Managed Personally
Dennis and Reid run every job themselves. The phone rings, one of them picks up. There is no project manager between the family and the family.
Four decades on one island, building the homes the neighbors know by sight.
For over forty years, Vitarelli Construction has built the custom homes that reflect both the vision and the life of the families inside them.
As a family-owned business, Dennis and his son Reid take pride in craftsmanship and personal service. Every home they create is not just a building, but a lasting legacy, and every project they undertake carries the same standard, from a ground-up custom build to an intricate remodel.
From concept to completion, the Vitarellis work directly with each client. The work happens on Balboa Island, Bay Island, Newport Island, the Balboa Peninsula, Corona del Mar, and Costa Mesa. Over 140 new homes. Countless remodels. One family running the work for over four decades.

Dennis Vitarelli founds the company and begins building on Balboa Island.
The first ground-up custom home, setting the standard for everything that follows.
A quarter-century mark reached. Word spreads, street by street.
Reid Vitarelli joins as project lead. The second generation begins its run.
One hundred new homes across the island. Most families on the route know the name.
BuildZoom recognition places Vitarelli in the top 1% of California contractors.
Dennis started Vitarelli Construction in 1984 and has built every kind of home the island makes. In 2010 his son Reid joined as project lead. Today they run the work together: Dennis on the site he has walked for forty years, Reid carrying the standard into the next generation. Between them, there is no middleman.
Dennis"The work is personal whether you treat it that way or not. So we treat it that way."
Reid"Same standards my father set down four decades ago. The work still gets done by hand."

Coastal homes have specific demands: salt air, narrow lots, bayfront codes, neighbors thirty feet away. Forty years on the island has taught the answers.
The marketing is the work. Most of the projects come from neighbors of completed projects. That isn't an accident.
Six neighborhoods across the bay. Forty years of footprints inside roughly two square miles of coast, and that proximity is the point. Chances are you have walked past a home we built.
Every home we make starts with a phone call from someone who knows what they want their family's days to look like.
